Apple Pie Porridge
For a yummy full up tummy...
This easy porridge is great as a post training snack or a breakfast for a busy morning. The vanilla protein powder adds a custard flavour for a full apple pie effect.
Protein helps in both muscle repair and recovery and in helping keep you full up for longer! The seeds are full of fibre, omega 3 and probiotics, to keep your gut, brain and heart healthy. This is also a great breakfast for menopause, full of protein, fibre and phytoestrogens!

This can be made in advance to take to work, add all the ingredients except the protein powder and flaxseed to a microwavable container. Once this is cooked I stir in the powder and seed mix.
Ingredients

25g wholegrain porridge oats
10g chia seeds
250ml milk of choice
1 eating apple, cored and finely diced
0.5-1 tsp cinnamon powder
25g/1 scoop vanilla protein powder such as PHD or Sun Warrior
10g ground flaxseed (I use Linwoods with added bio cultures and vitamin D)
50g 0% fat Greek yogurt

Mix together oats, chia seeds milk, most of the apple and cinnamon, pop in the microwave for 2.5 minutes, stirring after 1.5 minutes. Stir through the protein powder and flaxseed and half the Greek yogurt. Top the porridge with remaining, apple, Greek yogurt and flaxseed and enjoy a warm full up healthy tum!
